501(c)3 non-profit organization engaging mid-life and older adults in the creative exploration of their next life stage. DWN provides connection, direction and
opportunities for learning and community involvement.
Our Vision
Discovering What's Next® is the premier resource for mid-life and older adults who seek to contribute to the vitality of their communities and enrich their own lives.
Our willingness to experiment with and initiate new approaches to emerging social and economic changes is building us a reputation as pioneers in redefining the role of midlife and older adults in society.
DWN aspires to:
1. Facilitate personal discovery, learning, and growth through an array of forums, workshops, civic activities, and life changing dialogues.
2. Recruit and energize participants to engage in a wide range of initiatives
created to advance the richness of their lives and their communities.
3. Help individuals identify their interests and connect them with other individuals
and community resources who share and benefit like interests.
4. Mobilize community institutions including businesses, universities and community agencies in public/private collaborations around issues and initiatives relevant to mid-life and older adults.
5. Inspire innovative models of value for individuals, organizations, businesses
and government entities in response to the evolving personal and community
needs related to mid-life and older adults.
6. Fully utilize and develop our egalitarian, diverse and shared leadership through respecting and valuing the experiences and wisdom of our community members, volunteers and staff.
7. Establish a commitment to learning and sharing through documenting our history, benchmarking our progress, connecting research initiatives with appropriate resources, and responding to requests for consulting support.
